The first half of our vacation was over at this point. It was a travel day. We drove back to Paris (terrible traffic around the city!) and grabbed a flight to Zurich. We think most North Americans would not be able to return a rental car at Charles de Gaulle airport. It was a labyrinth, and really difficult to navigate.
Then on to Barcelona.
In Barcelona, we got a great cab downtown to the Catalonia Hotel and took a walk out to the Ramblas.
We had a dinner of tapas and paella at a tourist restaurant on the Ramblas. It was OK, but not great. There is better food in this city! Barcelona was really impressive. Full of people from all over the world.
